How to Prepare Simply Great Jerky
You are already off to a great start by purchasing our Simply Great Jerky mix!

Now, time to get out the equipment you will need
- A food dehydrator, oven, or a smoker
- Bamboo skewers – aids in oven drying
- Liquid smoke – if desired to give that ‘smokehouse’ flavor
- Measuring cups
- Water
- Fork to mix
- Plastic bowl to mix
- Plastic bowl or resealable plastic bag to marinade jerky in
- Our Simply Great Jerky seasoning mix
- And your meat.
Step by Step Instructions

Step One
If you had your local butcher cut and trim your meat, this is going to go very quickly. Just go through all the meat and trim it leaner if you would like to. Then cut it into desired sized pieces. Set aside when completed.
Step Two
Into a plastic bowl, measure the needed water and liquid smoke (if desired). Then add the seasoning mix and pink Prague powder, mixing well.
Step Three
Pour mixture over the meat and turn the meat over several times to coat the meat well. Put into the refrigerator and marinate overnight or 8 hours, turning occasionally for best results.
Step Four-Oven
Do not pat the meat dry. Place meat evenly on the bamboo skewers and hang from the oven racks. Do not overcrowd. Maintain the temperature at 155 degrees. Beginning at 3 hours, check for doneness often.
Step Four-Dehydrator
Do not pat your meat dry. Place jerky meat onto dehydrator racks spacing evenly. Starting at 3 hours, check for doneness frequently.
Step Five
Remove jerky from racks, smoker and/or oven when the jerky has reached your desired texture. It should bend but not break, and have a little 'give' to the meat. ENJOY!! And please be sure to come back for more!
